try this :
1. Turn REACTIVITY in general settings back to normal or slow (normal is what VDJ was before 2.1, and is better for slower pcs with less ram)
2. Turn off read id tags (slows down the soft a bit of slow pc)

I was able to get it to skip... In order to do so, I had a hard drive de-fragging, a video encoding, ad-aware doing a scan, Norton anti virus doing a scan... then I set up a big print job to print. It skipped twice.
Now, I would never do any of that while working, so I figure I'm pretty safe.

Maybe he was talking about skipping a beat when timestretch is on and you play your songs faster and not the skipping (pauses) in the song when there is high cpu usage
sometimes it sounds like you skipped a beat ... it depends on the song.
If this is the case, try to turn timestretch off and let us know

Yup! It might be timestretch.
