Sujet windows xp to windows 7 database

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hello

I have switched to windows 7 today.
I have both database xml file backed up from xp.
1 database file from vdj my documents. the other file from external hd.

I installed vdj 6.05 pro on w7, opened it. let it scan my files.
then closed. I overwritten both files but it does rescan my external hd ( all my songs are there )
so the back up arent usefull now. cannot see old data,

both database backup dates are from 3-1-2010 ( which is today time 2:30 pm before the windows 7 installation)

Is it possible W7 doesnt handle db file as xp used to ?
is there a way to get it work ?

The external drive must have the same drive letter as under Windows XP.

Open the old db from the external drive with an Editor, so you could see the drive letter. Change the drive letter under Windows 7 and then restore the db.

There is no difference handling the db under XP or Win7.

Please download and save the install file to your desktop.
Then right click on it and select "run as administrator" with UAC User Account Control shut off in control panel/security.

If the exe has been modified by your antivirus in any way it will not run properly.

If you are running NOD32 antivirus, disable the AMON feature in the nod control panel, then run the vdj install, then re enable mon feature.
