Yes, you can do that - You can simply uninstall it from the old one and then install it on the new one. Once you have purchased and registered, you can download the software again at any time from the Download Center: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html
The End User License Agreement (EULA) allows you to have the software installed on up to two computers at any one time, providing that they are both for your own personal use and will not be used simultaneously (E.g: Second installation as a backup or for practising at home is OK, allowing a friend or another DJ to use it is NOT allowed.)
You may also uninstall the software from an old computer and then install it onto a new computer.
NOTE: If you intend to sell, give away or dispose of an old computer, you must remove VirtualDJ from it first.

just to save opening another thread, so if i install in 2 comps.
i can basically install it as many times as li want as long as i only have it on 2 comps at any one time?? a strange question i know but i am upgrading to windows 7 soon and i have already installed it into my vista machine and my laptop.
so that would give me 2 installs.
but with me doing a fresh install it means my vista install would be wiped out and installing into win7 would still leave me with 2 installs.
is this all good?

I'd like further confirmation on this as well. Sorry if I am beating a dead issue, I just don't want to throw away $250 by doing a reinstall and not be happy where it ends up. I change my physical PCs a lot, except for the one that has VDJ on it. Does that mean that I can uninstall my copy of VDJ and re-install it onto a new PC with my same serial number as many times as I buy a new PC (as long as it's not on more than 2 computers) ? Although having a dedicated machine is a good idea, it has been inconvenient where I've been afraid to install and reinstall my copy of VDJ, I I have been unable to use my laptop for other things other than DJing. I had heard someone say that you can only install it two times and that's it. The person that sold it to me at the DJ Convention in Atlantic City, NJ said that I could install it as many times as I want as long as it's on two PCs for my personal use only. Can you please confirm whether I can install and reinstall as many times as I need to for me ? I would like to convert to Windows 7 on my desktop and finally buy a new 17 inch laptop (PC or Mac) for my performances. Thanks.

YES you can install it as many times as needed as you come to this forum to get the download after you register your serial number. It can only be on 2 computers that YOU own, ie 1 for gig and 1 for backup, etc.

@DiscoBrian24 -
Thanks for the timely response. Can I install through my original disc and the serial number that is imprinted on the inside cover of the packaging or does it have to be a download ?

You can install it from the original CD if you have a hard copy, or better, you can register the serial number http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and then be able to download the latest version (And future updates) at any time from the Download Center: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html
Once registered, you can also download free add-ons from the following page: http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/index.html

what if I initially installed the 5.0.7 version to my Windows XP laptop, from an online download, and now want to install that same version to my new Windows 7 laptop? When I enter my serial #, I am only offered two Windows versions....and I downloaded one and didn't like the new skin or the way the layout is.
The only downloads online are the upgraded versions, but I don't like them. I prefer my old one.
any ideas?

#1, you can choose any skin. #2, if you want an older version submit an E-Service ticket and the Team will take care of that for you.
Posté Thu 03 Jun 10 @ 5:06 pm
about #1- I went through all the skin options on the upgraded versions...none of them are like the old version 5.0.7
about #2- how do I go about doing that?
also, how do I get my Sidelist songs to appear in my Playlist? I would like to play the entire list automatically.
thanks

When you buy on this site it registers the serial here.
You can then use that serial to install VDJ on both computers.

Hmm..i ordered the Numark Mixtrack Pro that comes with VDJ Limited Edition. So when i get it, is it just to install it on the both computers from the cd? and at the same time register the serial here? I heard that you had to register the serial and then download the software or something liket that.
Tell me if im wrong..
I get the VDJ that i bought and install it on my HP and enter the serial number.
Done
Then i want it on my Mac.
i put in the cd and do the installation again with the same serial number?
Dont i have to come to this site and download that software on my mac becuse i install it twice?
it would be very helpfull if your wrote step by step what to do.
Thanks alot for you help!

You would install the VirtualDJ on to one of your laptops (entering the serial number) and then go to the second laptop and do the same (to my understanding). In my opinion this is something very easy to understand, you can install virtualdj as many times you want but only a maximum of 2 computers can have the virtualdj copy at one time. And it helps to register your product because it helps you install the virtualdj easier and quicker than having to get the cd out again (and risk damaging it) and having to type the serial number in, plus you get all the latest updates/upgrades from the download centre. Simpless.
And no you DONT have to register the serial number here to install the software, its optional.
Again I do recommend registering your virtualdj products, its a lot easier and less hassle for you :)
(Again this is in my understanding so feel free to correct me :) )
Hope this helps :D

Hey again, i have another question. My Mixtrack Pro is coming soon and im wondering. The mixtrack pro has a inbuilt sound card right? How do i make so the sound will come from my speakers? I've seen some videos of people using the mixtrack pro and they have some kind of red and white wire that they've put into the mixtrack pro??.
Should i just put the mixtrack into my computer by its usb cable, and then just plug in my speakers into my computer so the sound will come from there? or do i need those red and white wires?
Thanks!

Im sorry I just want to Make sure before i install my copy of virtual dj that Im understanding this right, so I can install & run Virtual Dj on up to two computers at the same time. And If i have it installed already in two computers, and i want to install it on a new pc, i must uninstall it from one of the other pc's in order to install it on the new one? Is this right ?
