Sujet: Hercules RMX key assignment save

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I just purchased the Hercules RMX yesterday. It took me a while but I finally figured out how to assign the 6 keys. I didn't load the virtual dj version off the cd because I already own virtual dj. I didn't reallize that I had to load the rmx skin to assign the effects/loops keys.

I have two questions. First, Can I save these assignments so that they load every time I open virtual dj. So far everytime I open virtual dj I have to load the rmx skin...assign the effect keys and then switch to my desired skin. Once I close the program and re-open it, my preferred effects are back to the default and I have to go through the steps again. Can I save my settings?

Second, when I am mixing and I set an 8 beat loop. If I hit the loop out button it actuallly creates a shorter loop and throws off my mix. To exit my loop I actually have to resort back to keyboard shortcuts and hit ESC or 8 to eliminate the loop. The only way I have found to use the RMX console to exit the loop without screwing up my mix is by hitting loop in and then quickly hitting loop out. This is not a great way of doing this either because I can not go back to my original loop now because I have created a new loop in point...ugggggg.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had the same issue with VDJ 5 not saving my effects. If you load VDJ 6 it will save all of the buttons after you set them or you can program them in the Key mapper (under the settings menu). There are some changes to the effect buttons in VDJ 6 and you will not be able to set them by default with your old RMX skin. I edited that skin, with some changes to fix that: http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/7329/RMX_Mod_Don_Houde.html

As far as loops, I am still learning how to use them for me. So I can't help you there, Sorry.

Good luck

Thank you for the suggestion. Although I did not have to use your skin. I did have to go to the Hercules sight twice and download the same drivers twice but it worked. It may be frustrating at first, as it was for me. It kept telling me Error with ASIO sound card...uggghhh.

However, I updated to the latest version of vdj...downloaded the hercules drivers....loaded it up. I like the new widescreen skin. That is a plus. Once I restarted my computer a few times and it kept updating info...finally the RMX was recognized again. I set my Effects keys, closed VDJ and when it re-opened my effects were still how I set them.

A final note. With the new updates...the loop out has also been fixed and I do not need to use the keyboard short cuts anymore.

I love it!!!!!!!

Sounds great, win win. Take care
