So, here is the issue.
I just got a new computer. I downloaded the new version of vdj and plugged in my external hard drive. I added my drive to the search db and I'm up and running. However, I lost all my cue points and bpms for the songs I've been using.
I see that on my external drive it shows database v5 and database v6. v5 is larger than v6 indicating that it has more info but virtual dj must be reading v6. can i combine these lists. can i use v5? if yes, how do I do this?
Thanks!!

I usually drag both files...or copy to thumb drive and then put on new hard drive...that usually works

they are both right there...if i cllick on the hard drive it looks like this
Music (folder)
virtual dj database v5 14,511kb
virtual dj database v6 12,806kb
I want my cues back.....help!
On another note, with my older version of vdj when i loaded a song for the first time. vdj would load it to a suggested beat or suggested start point and i could cue that point, beat sync and be in the mix without ever playing the song before. now the new version loads songs with the silence at beginning. I have to fast forward to first beat or click on a beat and create my cue and go from there. is there a way for dj to go back to loading "smart"
thanks!!!

the problem could be with the drive letter not being the same in both pc's. i know i had that issue before, and what i did to fix it was match the drive letter on the new pc to a the same drive letter it was in the old pc. eg. if the old pc drive letter of the external hdd was f: try to change the drive letter of the same external hdd on the new pc to f: also.
all the entries on the vdj database use the driver letter to find its content.
eg
f:\my music\music.mp3
so if the driveletter in the old pc is different from the new drive letter that was assigned to the external hdd in the new pc then chances are that the solution above could fix the problem. so, if the new drive letter is e:, then vdj cant find the cues and everything else related with f:\my music\music.mp3

drive letters are the same...its just creating a new database for the new program. wondering if i can merge the two lists or rename the database vdj5 to vdj6...can't hurt to try since i lost all my cues and bpms anyway...i'll wait to do this to see if anyone can suggest a concrete solution.

copy v5 and rename it v6-- whatever version your running, put into doc/vdj folder and put one in your ext drive and you should be good to go.
keep the original in external drive, never know if you may want to go back to v5 for whatever reason.
