"Just before I do that is there any issues with the HC4500 and snow leopard?"
Yes - very well - I have it works flawless with Megaseg and the VDJ demo under snow leopard. Just check with Denon to see if you have the latest version of firmware.
I'm in the process of building a 1 rackspace computer running XP (another running vista for a client) and will most likely be using that once I upgrade to Pro.
I'm pretty upset about the lack a valid version for mac for anything more than audio playback - I have an old MBP and using bootcamp the demo runs flawless - under OSX nothing but bugs but i heard version 5 worked pretty good and the basic version with the RMX works fine...
We will see what happens.

After i did the update, i find that the time it takes for VDJ to load is much longer. In fact i had one instance that i didn't load at all.
Any ideas?

is it safe to delete the VDJ & VDJpro plist?
i think that may be the reason for the beachball spinning when i start the program.

In your case i would do 2 things
1. boot off osx disc and choose from the disk utility repair permissions then reboot
2. use app zapper to make a clean install of vdj, note if you don't back up you local database this will delete it so be sure to back it up.

I played on VDJ 6.0.7 for about a half an hour on Sat night... I have to say i was very happy to see that the video is running much much MUCH! better... And the CPU meter was at about 50%.... I would have stayed in 6.0.7 but i was getting weird pitch fluctuations, especially when loading another video on the other side... Moving the sensitivity setting seemed to help a little, but it was still noticeable, and impossible to beat mix...
My machine is 3 years old, and was just sent in to apple for what was nearly a complete overhaul of parts... The only thing that was not replaced was the key board...
Anyway, i just wanted to go on record in saying that 6.0.7 is the closest ive seen to being a solid application since 5.2.1... I too am guilty of losing my temper and going on a rant, so im not blaming anyone for being a little pissed... But i would like to say positively that 6.0.7 is at least moving in the right direction, and it gives me hope on my older but still good that i will be using a 6.0 version on my machine...
17in Macbook Pro
2.16 Ghz dual core etc etc etc
ATY,RadeonX1600 256 meg of Vram.
Matrox Dual Head To Go Video Spliter
7200 rpm internal drive
Most of my videos are AVI, MP4, and VOB.

So did you revert ot version 5 at the gig?
Also are you running 10.5 or 10.6
Also are you running 10.5 or 10.6

Yes, i went back to 5.2.1 and as usual it worked seamlessly... Im gonna check to make sure my firmware is up to date on my controller, although i recently did that so im guessing it probably is...
I played with VDJ for about 3 hours on Sunday evening while stuck in an airport waiting to fly home, you should have seen me with my Denon S3700 out of the flight case and me sitting on the floor in the airport terminal... I drew lots of attention i can tell you that! :-)
While playing with it i noticed that every now and then while loading a video, i would get pops and clicks in the audio... Moving the performance slider made no difference at all... To be honest, ive never noticed any difference in anything moving that setting.

ONE MORE THING
And this issue happens in both 5.2 and 6.07. When i check the drive in the browser config window, i tell it to clean the files and it doesnt do anything... Is this a mac issue, or is it my computers issue?
Have a great holiday everyone...
Regards,
Chris.

I think a lot of good points are brought up on this board. While I have shared my frustration I do so in an attempt to bring visibility of the issues that I/we are dealing with. I don't know anything about programming, file systems, etc, and because of this I personally am hands tied in trying to come up with solutions. Not having the ability to offer solutions sucks and it only leaves for me to complain.
What I do know is that (as mentioned above)....Apple.com is bringing big time visibility to this program. This acclaim by a giant such as “apple” (and I say this with no intention on starting a pissing contest about apple –vs- windows…) is essentially MEGA free marketing for Atomix. As also mentioned above, if apple is promoting but the mac users bitch on this forum….it will come full circle in a SH!& sandwich when apple decides to not advocate or promote the product.
What I do propose is the following:
DJ Cyder, it sounds like your setup is working clutch. I am truly happy for you, but people with similar spec computers are having major issues. Let’s look at the variables. Again this is where I am really no good, but generally speaking it seems like people are running newer mac’s, 2.0GHZ and up, 4 gigs or ram. Suffice it to say I would say for the most part that people have very similar machines? If so, why don’t we all share what stuff we are using (Hercules, Vestax VCI, Denon HC class) and also a detailed report of their machine specs. This data sample may show some trend?? I dunno but it’s worth a suggestion…
I don’t know how long it takes to build a program such as this….but….with the fact the program was ported from windows I think it may be pertinent to discuss the possibility of a new “ground up” program from scratch.
Hercules RMX..., I originally purchased the RMX and had issues from the get go. Static shock (walk on carpet, touch the RMX) caused everything to lock up and require restart. I actually googled the issue and found well documented cases of this same thing and it was suggested the unit be grounded. I was soooooo pissed… I wanted to tell the company to pound sand…I spend the cake on this thing and now I have to run a ground strap for my equipment at a wedding? (BTW I do have serato now)… but after the RMX and before Serato I bought the vestax VCI100. I did not bother with getting an external sound card (again, no opinions please…) and I rigged the output so my red rca was deck one, etc….and ran mono but with all this said has anyone explored the possibility of external hardware interfering here? I think it is worth a review and sample data collection. I mean even without external hardware I had video issues, but for some of the other concerns is it the HW or SW? There are so many sound cards out there and interfaces and this adds exponential combinations and variables that with all fairness to Atomix…causes them and customers grief. $2000 macbook pro, crappy soundcard, decent interface, where is the fault? If a piece of hardware sucks and Atomix knows it then please pull it from the recommended list.

Im very happy with this update, unfortunately now i cant get my Denon controller to work properly... If i put the platter in vinyl mode, the pitch fluctuates like crazy... I tried changing performance setting, even tried the sensitivity controls with no luck...
Any ideas?

Help what karoke files work with this verision and is there some where to buy them
Posté Thu 25 Mar 10 @ 11:09 am
I have the latest firmware installed on the Denon, and i have 6.0.7 loaded on my computer... When running 5.2.1 i have no problems at all, unfortunatly i can not use all the features of my controller... 6.0.7 works pretty well, other then the warbling sound when i have my controller plugged in...
