Sujet: RMX Issues!

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Greetings to the VDJ Fam,
I have two issues with my RMX. I have used it on about 5 gigs and I've encountered the same issues each time. I have used the search function numerous times on the forum to try to correct these issues with no success, so hopefully some knowledgeable soul on the board can assist me, because these issues are really interfering with the quality of work that I try to give to my clients, ( I have a mobile service). I really love the versatility of the RMX, I am a prior owner of a MKII, but these things are bugging me out.

Issue #1- the gain controls, everytime I load a track in a deck, I go to adjust the gain and the volume comes out super loud! I then have to keep tweaking to get the volume back to a normal setting. this shouldn't be, I need the gain settings to be more stable.

Issue #2- microphone talkover, whenever I use the talkover function, there is a noticeable amount of static. I've tried disabling the talkover function, but I'm still getting the same results whenever I use the mic. I've also ran my microphone through my one of my powered speakers, no static, so that tells me that this has to be a console issue and not a mic or speaker issue.

Any feedback would be helpful and appreciated!

about the gain setting, i dont know if u wanna go to settings and enable auto gain setting or something, try that

Issue 1 - try disabling the auto gain, then adjust the gain yourself
Issue 2 - tru using an external mixer for the mic, its a lot better

There were new drivers released. Do you have the latest one? Also, I agree that running into an external mixer and not using that mic input is your best bet.

After you load VDJ, move all of the faders and knobs in case they are not at the "center" location on each, once the faders/knobs are moved, if they are not "zeroed", the software will put the volume at where it happens to be, say 75% when you were expecting 50% because that was where the fader when it was moved for the first time during the gig.

In other words;
1. software starts, VDJ assumes that the knob is at 50% cause it doesn't know since it was not moved.
2. once you move it, now it knows and puts it where it is, maybe 75%!!
3. I have to be careful when I bring my computer in the house and hook up the RMX to play new tunes or practice. I usually plug the output into the RCA line inputs of a powered computer speaker setup. VDJ starts with the Main and both decks at 100% and thats 85% too much for the -10db RCA inputs. (unfortunately I get a hum when using the RCA outputs of the RMX and mix the professional gear with my ungrounded line input.

About the mic:
use an external. You'll need one anyways if you need more than one mic for Emcees or Karaoke, etc. There are some hot 4 channel boards with USB interfacing and FX for One to Two Hundred Dollars.
A bonus of using an external mixer is it is a buffer between your RMX and your amplifier. Keep the channels muted on the mixer where the RMX gets plugged in and you can use your headphones to listen to the RMX before going live.

Hi, try changing the gain options on configurations window. It is the bad thing about the rmx, and the mic function sucks! Like they said, use an external mixer for the mic.

good luck

I just got Hercules Controller RMX and i have problem with it am unable to preview music and mic not working can someone please tell me what to do.... I need this help as soon as possible.

Thanks for all of the input, I will explore the external mixer option for my mic issues, as well as the gain input, I don't have the luxury of setting autogain, as I'm a limited edtion user, funds have been slow to upgrade, (whole other story) I will try to work with the knobs and faders everytime I load the console and VDJ. thanks again Fam.

I'm having the same issue. Any suggestions on an external mixer to hook onto the RMX?

^ u need help on how to do it?
