Ok, so I am running a time code vinyl setup through my Hercules RMX. It works pretty well, but to get perfect quality while adjusting the pitch and layering the crap out of sound effects I'm having to set my MS in the Hercules control panel to around 17ms or so. Up from the 10ms that i've come to understand to be standard. This is causing bad delay for scratching =(. Long story short I guess the RMX's Asio isn't as good as I would like to be. So here is my real question. Would Purchasing the Hercules Trim Fix this, Or is the sound card in the RMX basically the same thing? Or should I just Buy A real Mixer with a sound card maybe? Thanks for your help!

So just to be sure I understand correctly, at 17 ms, is everything working fine or are you still getting problem ?
As for 10 ms being the "standard", it's more of a psychological limit that a lot of people are trying to brake without actually knowing why. The goal is to get as little latency as possible. A low buffer size will certainly provide that...given that your computer is powerful enough and configured properly. Otherwise, you'll get audio glitches and skips. Too high of a buffer, and you'll get delays. 10 ms is, theoretically, where the human ear start to notice these delays.

As for the Rmx and the Trim, they use the same driver and roughly similar hardware.

Just to my TT's and to laptop or to another mixer. I would only use the hercules then in situations where I didn't want to scratch I guess. I'm not set on getting the trim or anything. I'm only curious about options/different setups. I don't think its possibly to have too much gear, lol
