Im about to invest in a hercules RMX to use with a trail version of vdj. My concern is as i dont have a seperate amp or speakers so can i use my inbuilt laptop speakers to hear the music? I no the quality wont be very good but until i can buy an amp or external speakers it will have to do. If its possible to use my laptop speakers do i connect the rmx into my laptop headphone port via what cable? sorry for the silly question but i want to get my facts right before i buy. Thanks in advance.

If you are using the Pro trial, then you can choose your laptop's sound card instead of the Hercules in CONFIG -> Sound Setup.
However, you will not be able to headphone pre-listen with this setup.
The best solution would be to purchase a pair of cheap amplified PC speakers and connect these to the back of the RMX. This will give you better quality sound than your laptop's speakers and also allow you to pre-listen.
When you get the RMX, you can upgrade from the free DJ Console Edition included with it to the full VirtualDJ Pro at a considerable discount (50%) - To receive this, go to http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html and enter your DJ Console Edition serial number in the box provided.
