Hey VDJ community,
Just wanted to see if anyone has managed to minimise or somehow get rid of the whining noise the TT emits when using timecoded vinyl?
Cheers everyone,
alex

Do you have a belt drive TT? Been quite a few years since I used one, but I know worn belts would loosen, start slipping and cause a "whine"

I thought this topic was about something else. I think he's talking about the actual noise from the needle moving over the record, not much we can do about that.

Is it coming trough your speakers? In that case you have to mute your troughput.

Can you clarify what you mean? Does it get louder when you increase volume? Is this a ground loop hum? What happens if you change mixers?

just to clarify as someone rightly said above the its the noise the actual turntable emits when playing a timecoded vinyl, it's like a whiney hum, which is a tad irritating - I thought I read somewhere you can limit it, but I suppose it really is just the needle playing the strange vinyl!
Nothing to do with ground loop or speakers - at least that would be an easy fix!
Cheers gang.

You can't limit or disable it. :) If you listen really closely to your turntables on a regular vinyl you can also hear the song playing. :)

If you can hear that whine then you really need to turn your system up, lol!
