Hi all,
I know it's been mentioned on other posts regarding the video pics not loading occasionally on version 6.07, but 'm also noticing a very slight sync problem between the pics and the music. I've compared the files by playing on an old version of PCDJ VJ (sorry for swearing) as well as playing them on Real Player and Windows media player. As I said, It's very slight and more noticable on some vids than others. It's happening on both my laptop and back up desktop PC
Has anyone else noticed this, or has it already been reported?
Cheers
Alan

Funny you metioned this about VDJ 6.07 because this last Friday I played at a club and just last night someone that was there mentioned/asked as to why it seemed like the audio & video were a little off. I plan on testing at home first and at the club to see if I notice it.

Did not want to start a new thread & maybe one of the moderators can adjuts the post subject line to "Video not in sync with Audio".
Well I started to check the small delay between the Video & Audio with VDJ 6.07 and sure enough it was about a split 1/2 to 1 sec off. I then upgraded to VDJ 6.08 & still get the same. So now not sure what could have started this. I do know when the video's were ripped they were on point.
Is anyone else out there experiencing a possible sync issue between video and the music?
Thanks.
Edwin

I've opened a ticket re this problem and asked if It could be passsed on to a developer/team member etc, along with the problem of the video pic missing/sound only problem which happens very occasionally since 6.07. As stated in a previous post, 6.08 does not address any of the recent video issues

I know that if you trim any of your videos, VDJ has a hard time figuring sync out, due to the engine missing information required to calculate sync under variable pitch speeds. For instance, I often trim out sections of music videos where the music stops, some acting happens, or talking, etc. Because I have now eliminated video frames that are needed to calculate video frames going forward, this screws up the engine designed to keep the whole video synced. This ends up throwing the whole video out of sync (often right from the beginning), even though it might playback fine in Quicktime or WMP. The solution to this is to encode your video a second time so that the video frames and keyframes are all intact and VDJ can make the proper calculations at different pitches to keep your audio and video synced.
Hopefully this post is helpful to people. You might be talking about different conditions though. Just an FYI.

Hi Paxwebb,
The video's are as ripped, untouched and play perfectly in previous versions of Virtual DJ. The synch problem is very slight and is worse on some vids than others.

Hi
Has this problem been sorted, i am trialling VDJ6.1 and have noticed some of my mp4 videos have sync problems. I don't appear to have the problem with avi video files.
I notice it more if i am playing an mp4 video then load another mp4 video in the other deck, at this point, the video playing sometimes goes out of sync by up to a second or more, and stays that way. If i deactivate video, then reactivate video, it comes back in correctly. I am also not sure if this is more pronounced when running the text video effect over video (i mention that because it is hard to see accuratly on the video preview window, but i have been running text more recently and have noticed more sync problems during the same time).
Anyway, i am seriously considering getting the full version but this problem is a bit of an issue for me as i use video 99% of the time.

As far as I see the audio to video to lag in version 6 has not been resolved. I have spent countless hours trying to tweak my system to sort out various video recording problems and this one won't go away. VDJ techies any way to kill this issue?? Does it have anything to do with what codec is used on resolution size of the recording window? Just a note I have not trimmed any individual videos and in other software the are totally, 100% in sync.

i had issues with mp4's also after upgrading and discover this ....
i use sony vegas to do my own video editing..i use the template Mainconcept AVC, which is what i've always used to create the mp4s in sony vegas.
i just tried the template SONY AVC, which is another mp4 template format ..and the mp4's play fine (i hope this is not premature like the last time i thought i figured this out)
i just dont understand why all of a sudden the mp4's starting having this issue..i share my video edits with other VDJ users (but havent confirmed there version numbers) and 2 of them say my mp4's play fine with their version of virtual dj.
try other mp4's from other sources...(do they still play incorrectly)
try rendering your mp4s to another format other than then one you use now..
since using this new template, my mp4's play fine without any issues.

I stand corrected: When I play back my VDJ recorded music video compilation on say Real Player the audio lag is very minimal, to a point that I can live with it. It was when I was playing it back after transferring it to dvd that I was seeing the huge lag. Therefore it has got the be the 3rd party burning software that is the real problem and not VDJ. I still have a yellow distortion problem though, but I am guessing that is my video card that needs updating.

I have had this same problem. But then noticed that it only happens when i use 1080p HD videos or ocasionally 720p. Standard definition videos work fine for me.

I have noticed a substantial lag in video and audio sync, especially after becoming a premium member with streaming. Does anyone have an answer for this???!!

Netsearch videos are Youtube videos, so no one can guarantee the quality of those videos. Has nothing to do with VirtualDJ.
