I have a dell dimension 5150 with multiple sound outputs on the back. The sound card is SigmaTel it is built into the motherboard. I configured my sound and clicked 4.1 sound card as my choice and selected sigmatel. The output channels I put Master front output/headphones rear. On the back on my computer I plugged in my speaker to the green hole and my headphones. But when I try to preview the song. I hear nothing coming out of my headphones. The headphones are not broken. I need help D: Thanks

Hello,
1) In VirtualDJ > Config > Sound Setup, set
- Inputs: None
- Outputs: Headphones Master: Front Output / Headphones: Rear output
- Sound Card: 4.1 card SigmaTelAudio
2) Don't connect anything to Dell's audio output on the front panel, it mutes the audio outputs of the rear panel.
3) Click on Windows start > Settings > Control Panel > Sound and audio devices and in the general tab, you have Speaker Volume and Advanced: click on Advanced and set your sound output for Quadraphonic speakers.
4) Connect
- your headphones on the black audio plug on the rear panel
- your speakers on the green connector, on the rear panel.
Andf it works, I also use a Dell Dimension 5150:
- a slow computer (in spite of a 3 GHz Core Duo computer, it is slower in XP than my 6 years older PC based on a 1.4GHz Athlon)
- the noise of Dell Dimension vibrating grid (this casing is a mess)
- Dell tech support never answering to any email I have send (I asked them how I could prevent this grid vibration)
these 3 issues remind me not to buy anything sold by Dell or branded Dell in the future.

I have a HP laptop...I recently bought the home edition of VDJ...How do i use headphones while music is playing? How do i listen to the other side of the deck?
I'm tired of trial and error recording... it sucks just getting lucky mixing the tracks together...I cant loop it if i cant hear anything from the other deck...
How do i set it up???

To be able to pre-listen to music using headphones, you will either need two sound cards or a sound card with multiple outputs, such as a 5.1 surround sound card or preferably a dedicated DJ sound card (E.g: Numark DJIO or Native Instruments Audio 2 DJ.)
Alternatively, you can use a single sound card and the mono split option in VirtualDJ's sound setup, however this will only give you MONO sound.
