I'd love to cue my audio files on on desktop computer for use with my laptop DJ system (DJConsole RMX). It's just so much faster to scan BPMs etc...Will the cues/bpms be read on the laptop when using an external HDD as my storage of the files? Or will I have to tell VDJ to store the DB on the external HDD (or does it by default)?

It stores a database on the external hardrive. but the software version must be the same IE: both desktop and laptop have to be running version 6.x (in VDJ the database changed between version 5.x and 6.x)
All your cue points, adjusted BPM's, tags etc etc will follow along with the external hardrive.
What WONT follow along between computers is things like filter folders etc as these are stored in the primary database on the c: drive (or permanent drive)

I have a problem where the VDJ on my desktop won't read or write the db file to/from my external drive. My laptop reads/writes to/from it just fine. Could this be a permissions issue (Vista Home SP1)? In fact, when adding songs from the external drive on my desktop, it writes to the db file on c: (on my desktop). What should I check?
BTW, using 5.0.7...will be upgrading to newest version, but haven't yet (it'll have to reread every file and lock my computer up for 3 days)...
