Sujet: Gateway NV7316u good for Virtual DJ Pro?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Greetings from Alaska.

My Dell D610 just can't play videos using Virtual DJ Pro without skipping or pausing.

The Gateway NV7316u (http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668439.php) seems like a really good deal (dual-core, 4gb RAM, 50 GB hard drive, ATI Radeon HD 4200 video card) for about $600.

Any opinions on this laptop?

Thanks for your time.

This laptop is more than ready for Vdj.

you wont be running video on that one very well.

Is the video card/memory not enough?

What would you recommend?

Victor

My Old Compaq Presario laptopwith 2gb ram 384 SHARED Video Memory runs video flawlessly with loads of transitions and video effects and this new one can't ? It's definitely gonna work smoothly.

i can't believe that a shared memory video card ran video flawlessly.

when looking for a "video gig" machine look for a video card with dedicated memory 256mb or better. i ran with an Nvidia 8400 GS M for a year and it worked good, not great but good enough for the average party. if you google the video card in that machine you can see the reviews. look for a link from a website called "www.notebookcheck.com" i use that site all the time to compair video cards on laptops. i think the one in this laptop is like in the 3rd or 4th category. 1 being best 7 being worst.

my new laptop has 1 gig dedicated video, just to give you an idea but i run video every time i play.

What laptop are you using?

For video mix, use a Intel Core 2 Duo or better. Processor models are T6000 and better or p8600 or Q9000 or Core i5 or i7.

RAM Memory 4GB in DDR2 (800MHz better) or DDR3.

Video card choose N-Vidia 9600GT or 240GT or better. If you want a best deal price, then select Intel 4500 video card, it would work ok with VirtualDJ pro. Stay away from ATI (Series 3000 and up), since there are drivers issues that wont let you use VOB or MPEG-2 video files and also could not let you use all video effects as well.

All other things are optional (hard disk, screen size, HDMI, DVI, VGA outs) but VGA output could be easiest to connect to S-Video and RCA Composite Video (using a VGA-to-Video adapter). HDMI and DVI are more expensive ways to be connected, but can also be connected using a more expensive adapter.

Could be NV59 or NV79 with Intel Graphics Media video adapter no ATI. And Core i5 Processor.

Could be NV7919u for $799 or NV7923u for $679.

There are others like NV78 but for $29 usd more, I pick NV7923u.

The selection you made (nv73) would not be good for video mixing.
