Sujet: Video Mixing between Music Video and a Audio File

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi guys,

First off let me say i am new to this program and so far vary impressed.

I will be looking at the Hercules controler and using my laptop to run video and audio.

My question is being i dont currently have a large video library less than 100 video songs. Does Vdj have the ability to display like a active color matrix instead of the video.

Like you find with the winamp visulation or windows media player?

Just something i can display on the screen instead of the music video?

Thanks guys for the help

Yes there is, there are a few options but the one that will head the pile for you will be Sonique visualisations. Next up will be clipbank where you can use or make your own videos in allotted individual squares of twelve.

You can also use the free Firetext plugin for combinations of effects and images, but if you purchase the correct version you will also be able to use Flash (swf), avi and mpeg files, using flash files inconjunction with a couple of programmes one called Resolume the other Arkaos you can certainly rock the boat.

Yes; there are several options. Here are a few:

You can play a slideshow of image files using the SlideShow effect
You can play video clips using the Clipbank effect
You can play video clips by linking them to the audio file
You can play visual effects using the Sonique effect

all the above are great choices

i'm glad SBDJ mentioned the video linking you can have some fun with that

the soniques are a large collection of visualizations commonly found out on the web , sometimes complete with bugs , so

download the copy here at this website it has been cleansed

i use the soniques a lot ... i have a personally edited copy where i deleted out the ones i don't like

slideshows can be a lot of fun and tayla'd or tailored even, to the occasion ....

in my clipbank i have some humorous bits , plus shadow dancers (recommended) and some nice templates Tayla was kind enough

to make for me that i use to promo myself and FireText..... plus i have made my own , but i'm not as good as Tayla yet .....

SBDJ and Cel and others have great free video plugins as does FireText

SBDJ's text plug in is great , and very reliable

i also use the cube nearly non stop by Cel .......

typically i have soniques or a slideshow spinning away on the cube .....

at the bottom of the screen scrolling away is my "super important" message .......

then i often superimpose a camera feed or additional slideshow ( the free FireText plugin)

if you purchase the full FireText package with the text message to screen you can also display text messages up there

throw yerself into the video , it's way cool and sets you apart from the crowd

Best place is the music forum (nearer the bottom of the main page)

@ Michalson....you'll have to upgrade the Lite version of VDJ (supplied with The Hercules) to VDJ Pro (you'll get a 50% discount, great Deal !) if you want to output your video to a screen.after you gotten and become familiar with installing the video plugins then go to my blogs in my home page to get more soniques.you can get more video plugins too..so have fun in your journey!!

i have recently started using clipbank/scrolltext ect and believe me it is a super addition in pubs ect.even now i do videos also to put a birthday text up aswell for people its great totally professional looking to.
one question what do you mean linking clips to audio file.
also even when using videos is it ok to have a very low cpu during use.goes higher on loading

Thats perfect; my system uses very little CPU power when playing a video.

Linking a video clip to an audio file (or another video file) is where you tell VDJ that anytime that file is played, you want that video file to be played as though they were one file.

good to know.got a fright when cpu bar almost showed no usage first time using video drive last week

mate it is a dell inspiron about 5 years old.new hd and 4g ram running xp pro

Thanks Guys all great info!!

Im not sure of all that software you all where talking about can you please list the links for me to check this out.

I Have found that with the demo mode and with my laptop tied into my 42" HDTV with 1080p that it is glitchy. So i have a performance issue that i'll need to deal with. I am going to invest in a USB extranal video card with HDMI output to tie into projector in the hopes that this will fix that issue if not a laptop upgrade will be nessecary to fully run videos unless i can find a lower resolution skip that requires less processing power to give more to the video drivers

I have found a free software package that will let me record Music Videos from U-tube so this for now is my source for video files.

I hope to get video clips of the graphics also for when i dont have a orginal music video

I also like the idea of being able to have messages on the screen and making a splash screen with my name and info on it! that i can flash occassionally between songs.

I thank all of you who have helped point me into the right direction. I hope to be the leader of the crowd with these software upgrades in my area!

Is there a post for sale items I'm looking for more High end light gear also!

Thanks! If you have DJ Scan 250's or DJ Spot 250 for sale please let me know!!

Don't bother with the USB video adapter, honestly, it won't cope - it will need to support DX9 hardware video acceleration and I've not personally seen any that do. USB isn't the best bus for video anyway.

I would be wary of using illegally obtained content for performances.

mate i use keylite adapter for my external screens.plug and play and never let me down.it is usb powered and signal comes from serial port(not sure if this is right name for part on rear of laptop) and then normal video cable to screens.as long as your project laptop to external screens your good to go.

The Keylite isn't a video card, it converts between video connections. Completely different to what we were talking about above.

apologies mate.just trying to give different methods of extra displays without external video cards

Thats OK; he was thinking that his video card wasn't up to the job hence wanting to use an external video card.
