Hi All,
Got a sort of weird question.
This weekend's wedding client wants to use separate song for each couple (total of 7 songs). Plus they also requested a specific portion of each song (e.g. from 1:30 - 1:49).
I created individual (edited) MP3s of each song (containing just the portion of song client requested ... approx. 15-20 sec each). I then created a playlist for all songs (in correct order of course).
My problem is how best to handle doing the intro, and playing each song (since I need one hand for microphone, and 2nd hand for Intro list). I thought I can simply let the entire playlist run on automix, but I prefer to have manual control (in case a couple walks in slower or faster than expected). I also considered making one big MP3 file and simply pressing play/pause for each intro, but don't want any dead space in between.
Suggestions?

I'd meld them in to a single MP3 ans place cue points at the start of each snippet. Here's why:
1. Single file leaves your mic hand free while you can use the other hand for play/pause
2. Cue points give you visual markers so you know when the next snippet is about to start
3. If there is an issue with one of the couples, you can revert to the necessary cue point with a keyboard shortcut
Other considerations:
Do you need to mix the snippet or hard stop/start, this will determine whether you need a slight gap between each in the final file.
If hard stop/start, you may want to consider building a 1 second fade in to each snippet so that you don't have to worry about fiddling with the volume either.
Hope this helps,
Roy
