Sujet: Sound Card issues!

Hi I have bought a numark ion icue controller and installed the software onto my macbook pro. I have an Alesis io2 external usb sound card, however, when i play the sound out of the alesis (master channel), the sound quality is real poor. Can someone please give me the heads up on where i'm going wrong?
