Hi guys, I've been playing around with the trial version of VDJ and I absolutely love it...except for the video freeze problems! I'm having the same problem most people have reported where the videos freeze, the audio continues, and the only way to fix is to load or unload a vid from the deck or move the video around. I'm aware that there is a super long thread with a solution here: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/120697/PC_Version_Technical_Support/_DEBUG__Video_Freeze_Problem.html but since I don't have a license I can't view the page! The only thing I want to do is spin vids, so I'd really like to get the trial version running before buying the pro version and finding out I still can't get it to work. Anyone out there willing to help a non-licensed future-pro user pretty please?
I'm running off a rig right now while I wait for my lappy to come in the mail. Specs:
VDJ 6.1Trial
Windows 7 x64
3.2 Ghz Phenom II Quad core
4GB DDR3 RAM (+ 8 GB Virtual memory)
2 x 1.5 Tb drives
2 x HD5770's in Crossfire
So like the other post's I've found, I can't see it as being a hardware issue since my rig is fairly fast and cpu/ram loads are never too high. I've tried MP4, MPEG-2, and AVI formats and all have the same problem. I'd just wait for the lappy to come in and try it on that, but my PC is connected to my big screen and it's nice having VDJ just automix videos in the background, so I'd really like to get it working on the rig. Thanks for any help :)

You mean you don't want to spend the $1500.00 on a pretty nice Dell XPS Studio 16 lappy to run videos with a 1 gig video & still can't. Mine is sitting in a closet with the Pro version of VDJ I bouth a year ago this August at the Expo on A.C. Big waste of time. Not a happy VDJ Pro owner. Not to mention the hours of time configuring & reconfiguring. All for an expensive dust collector in my closet.

Ok so last night I was djing from 9-1am in my usual residency
At 12.45 vdj decides it's time to finish the night off with a screen freeze. (all the coulours on vdj ran across the screen)
The music kept playing
The dmc2 froze
The tv screens in the venue blacked out.
Can anyone help me, as to why this happened?
How to resolve ?
Thanks in advance

I think I'm having the same problem. VDJ 6.0, running windows 7 x86.
The gui seems to 'stick' - like it doesn't refresh. So like - you can't see yourself moving through the browser - even though it change. ie everything is responding to the mouse clicks etc, but the gui doesn't show it happening.

When loading a song it's normal for the user interface (Skin) to stop updating for a few seconds while your computer is busy accessing the drive. If you are using an external hard disk, then there may also be a short delay while the operating system wakes the drive from sleep.
Neither of the above should have any impact on the song that is playing out live.
If the song that is playing out live is also affected, then you may have performance issues with your computer - Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/homepage/jpboggis/blogs/4094/Common_performance_issues_and_solutions.html for a list of common causes and their solutions.
To be able to play in stereo with headphone pre-listen or output two decks separately to an external DJ mixer, you will ideally need a proper multi-channel DJ sound card such as Numark DJIO.
Or you can add a simple stereo USB sound card to your laptop to allow headphone pre-listening, with your laptop's own sound card for the master output in stereo.
The split option will only give you MONO sound which is not ideal for live performance.
