Go into config and click the mappers tab. Next pick which key you want to use then where it says "ACTION" type in "SEARCH E or W" ( 1 or the other not both).Using just the letter "E" or "W' is kinda of vauge, why not use a phrase or word?? Your results would be better. Or map more then 1 button............... If you do it like I said you wont even have to use the mouse to put the focus on the search zone.
Hope that helps

kind a strange request. What exactly do you need these commands? Are you planning to map some kind of a midi controller to type in the search field? I mean keyboard doesnt do the job for you?

Xone 4d has keys with the alphbet on it, so when you use a rack unit pc and a screen, i don't need a keyboard in a rackdrawer or something like that, but i could use the controller, and since it has a shift function all the keys, faders, knops can have double functions

As far as I know the search shortcut will clear the existing contents meaning that you will only be able to enter one letter.
