I have heard very good reviews on the macs and am pretty infatuated with the 13",...............however my question is, whether it is a good buy an able to handle video mixing flawlessly??
the mac am interested in is the new mac book pro 13", 2.4 ghz core 2 duo, 4gigs ram,.nvidia 330m video card,.............i intend to run it with my cdj 400's,.............so any feedback would be grateful,...........

Check the Apple Store again. The 13" Macbook Pro does not have the nVidia 330m graphics card, it has the nVidia 320m which is an integrated graphics card using shared main memory. Not really suitable for video mixing.

For Video mixing it is recommended to have an independent graphics card with its own memory and graphics processor. The 15" & 17" Macbook Pro's have both the nVidia 320m integrated and nVidia 330m independent graphics cards with automatic switching between them. The 330m has it's own memory onboard 256mb or 512mb depending on which model you buy (unfortunately a lot more money than the 13" Macbook Pro).

I have just bought the 15" i7 version and have Bootcamped with W7 32bit version. I have VDJ on the Mac & the W7 partitions, however, as you may know the Mac version does not have all the pluggins available for video effects and transitions. Therefore, most DJs using video tend to use the PC version on a Bootcamped partition with either W7 or XP. I am using the PC version on the W7 partition as I only DJ with videos and use the Showlogo & SBDJ Scrolling Text pluggins which are not available on the Mac version.

Hope this helps you make your decision.

P.S. If you are going ahead with a Mac, checkout the prices on Amazon, my 15" Macbook Pro i7 was £215 cheaper than if bought in the Apple Store!!! ;-)
