Sujet: will downloaded netsearch files play offline?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Before I purchase a membership I have a question. Lets say I download a song to cache that I need for a gig, then the venue does not have wifi. Will my downloaded file be playable since it can't verify my membership is active? Thanks

Yes, you just need to renew the cache drm every so often, 30 days I think?

Does that mean re downloading each song? Or simply logging in to the net with vdj within 30 days?

In theory just logging in every 30 days.

However to be double sure if you right click on the Netsearch folder and select "Refresh Permissions"

You just have to renew the licence for the songs already there. They will stay in the HDD and as long as you renew regularly and stay subscribed you can use them.

Cool thanks, you guys just sold me on it!

I just don't get it, I mean why not just use itune's or similar to buy any on the night that you don't have.

Probably because people who don't have large collections can get access to thousands of tracks for next to nothing. Danger is that worst case Atomix or the service provider go down you're screwed!

I could use itunes and have...now I have another option.

Different strokes for different folks

I am totally new to this feature of VDJ.
My question is two-fold. What file format are the songs of this monthly subscription? And, what kbps are the files?
Thank you.

It is a special format with .vdjcache extension, but you can use them within virtualdj the same way you use all other files.
Sound quality is good with bitrates from the standard 128-192 to 320 kbps.
