Hi all,
I have an external hard drive with 2 1tb drives. I have the external enclosure set to JBOD, which means the computer sees them as 2 seperate 1tb drives. I have half my music on one and the other half on the second drive, both drives have a xml database file. This works great on my xp machine but on my vista machine here's what's happening. My first drive is seen perfect, all songs are scanned and all bpm's are shown. My second drive is not, everything comes up yellow as if virtual never seen it before. when I do an "add to database search" on that particular drive it starts to save the database file in the C drive which is the internal drive of the computer.

Go to config > browser > at the bottom where it says use drive, select whichever drive you want to use. Unfortunately you will have to select the external every time since when you start up VDJ it sets by default to C.

I don't see the drive there. It's like it's not even connected and it is.

check your permissions..
I've read on other threads that the biggest issue with Vista (when it first came out), is you needed to make sure you installed VDJ with full permissions, otherwise vista's new "security" can really mess with things..

How do I go about finding out if I installed with permissions?
Sorry, to sound so dumb. I've always used XP Pro.

Can you see your external when navigating to it in My Computer in windows? If windows can't see either then its probably a connection (i.e. usb power) issue.

Got it. I had to open the program as administrator, then I was able to see both drives. Thanks for all the help.
