Sujet: Sync VDJ with external mixer.

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Is there any possible way to sync VDJ with an external mixer?

What I'm trying to achieve is this...

I use turntables, CDJs and mixer as any club set up, but would like to know if while playing on these,
I could sync them with a track being played in VDJ, so I could mix between vinyl, cds and mp3 simultaneously
using a lead going from my mixer into my pc line-in (which I already have connected).

I can mix this way, but the BPM/Tempo is never spot on.

Is there a way VDJ could "listen" to the mixer and beat-match within the program itself?

I know you can't see any recording levels in VDJ so probably, this may not be the case.

If VDJ was able to record directly from line-in (from mixer) just in the same way Adobe Audition and Audacity do,
and to see the sound/recording levels and visually beat-match tracks, I think that would work.

Maybe a future feature for VDJ - Support for external recording enabling internal and external beat-matching simultaneously.

Thanks for any info.

We (myself and other DJ's I work with) often use iPhones/iPads, CDJ's, Nintendo DS' VDJ, etc, etc at the same time, running through a mixer and I'm afraid it's simply back to good old beatmatching by ear...

Always been the same, in the old day's it was record's, CD's and mini disc's

Generally, you had music scattered across a few sources and had to mix accordingly.

Practice makes perfect...

on another note.. I am not sure if VDJ Supports Midi Clock or not
but if your mixer supports midi clock and has a BPM Couter, you may be able to send the BMP Signal
back and forth to vdj..

This is what I do sometimes.
I tap the beat out on my mixer.
I use the number to get me close to where I need to be
fine tune the pitch by ear.
