No, jpboggis mapper (or ANY other mapper for version 5.x) won't work on version 6.x of VDJ.
Both VDJ 5.x and 6.x work fine on Windows 7.
Also VDJ 5.x with JPBoggis mapper will also work fine on Windows 7.
Finally I guess you know that in V6.x you can map the controller however you like, right?

I have no idea with using vdj 6??? is it easy to map???

Yes, mapping is quite easy and you can always ask for help on anything you wish to accomplish.
On your second question I would say to upgrade on latest version 6.1.2
BTW: I had also developed an advanced mapper for HC-4500 and when V6 come out I didn't upgrade at first because I was so used to my own mapper. After some time I thought to give V6 a try. Since then I never used V5.2.1 again. Ok, I spent a few hours completely re-mapping my HC-4500 to do half the things it was able to do with my mapper (which took me 3 months to program) but I didn't regret it.
So, I would suggest you to move on... Sooner or later when V7 will come out you will upgrade. Why don't you do it right away?

well at the moment i dj every saturday in a bar in liverpool,
i've built a box with slim pc, mixer, and controller all built in...............so i'm use to it
windows Vista / vdj 5.2 / denon hc4500 /jp boggis mapper
I have been told i'm not aloud to take my box in anymore.................
so I want to buy a laptop now and take that in , instead....... just want to make sure i will be able to remap it myself....i'm not a confident person lol in doing anythink technical

As I said it's very easy to remap everything even if you're not tech-savy! And VDJ works waaaay better in Win7 than Vista! Not to mention the MIDI implementation of Vista OS is the worst EVER...

It's actually not that easy for a novice.
Granted, assigning a button to a single command is easy, but scripting multiple button commands with shift, when active and such is not too easy for a start.
I moved to V6 from Jon's mapper and had to get a fair bit of help to configure the HC-4500 to mimic some of the things I had taken for granted in the custom mapper. It took me several weeks (and a fair bit of help from Jon) to get the mapping in V6 to do exactly what I wanted.
Maybe the best option is to install V5 first, copy over your DB then install V6 in a different location. At least then you will have the choice of both and you can still use the custom mapper on V5 when you are working on the V6 mapping. You will have 2 databases to maintain but that's easy enough!
