Sujet: VDJ7 & DAC 3 - 4 Deck Jogmodes

Hi guys, firstly, many thanks for this upgrade, looks awesome.

One slight issue I have found is that for some reason I cannot get all 4 decks to have the jogmode as CD, i.e. to use the jogwheel for pitchbend. I can only seem to get decks 1 and 2 to be as per CD, decks 3 and 4 stay as vinyl.

I am using a DAC 3 and mapped the number buttons to select decks, using codes: button 1 - deck 1 leftdeck; button 2 - deck 2 rightdeck. etc. Decks 1 and 3 to left deck, decks 2 and 4 to right deck.

Any ideas?

Just to update, it seems that I can only get one of the decks assigned to each 'deck' on my controller to CD jogmode, the other deck revets to vinyl. What I mean by that is that my left 'deck' on the DAC3 is decks 1 and 3 in VDJ. If I assign the jogmode of deck 1 as CD, deck 3 reverts to vinyl. The same goes for my right DAC3 deck which is decks 2 and 4 in VDJ.

Using a Gigaport HD, with the ASIO drivers if that is of any relevance.

As I dont scratch and do not intend to is there any way on the mapper that I can remove the vinyl mode completely so that the jogwheel can only do pitchbend?

 
Not having any problems here mate.

For a test I took the default mapping and mapped:

1 to 
device_side left ? deck 1 leftdeck : deck 2 rightdeck

2 to 
device_side left ? deck 3 leftdeck : deck 4 rightdeck


I set "Jog Mode" to "CD" on the options tab which means vinyl_mode will default to CD jog control rather than vinyl emulation. I also made sure that the DAC3 was set to control Left/Right from the deck assignment options on the mapper page.

All decks stayed as expected and buttons 1 and 2 toggled 1/3 on the left and 2/4 on the right. None of the decks reverted to vinyl mode. If you're still having problems you can force all decks to CD mode whenever the DAC3 is loaded by VDJ by adding a new mapping for ONINIT mapped to:

deck 1 vinyl_mode 0 & deck 2 vinyl_mode 0 & deck 3 vinyl_mode 0 & deck 4 vinyl_mode 0


This means no matter what state they are in now, or when you exit VDJ, they will all be reset to CD mode whenever that controller is used.

If you'd prefer a single button toggle btw, map a button to:

device_side left ? deck 1 leftdeck ? deck 3 leftdeck : deck 1 leftdeck : deck 2 rightdeck ? deck 4 rightdeck : deck 2 rightdeck


This button will then toggle 1/3 on the left and 2/4 on the right.

If you're still having trouble then I guess if you wanted to permanently disable the vinyl mode you could change the jog mapping from 
jogwheel
to 
vinyl_mode 0 & jogwheel

which would disable vinyl mode every time the jogwheel is used.

Oh just to let you know - that Notepad plugin is out now too - there is a thread in the plugins forum on it (and linked from your wish post).
 
Scotty, all of this works :), got my system ALMOST working exactly how I want it, just need the perfect skin and I am there :D
 
Matt or Scotty, I too have a DAC3, maybe I'm a bit thick but I havn't got a clue how to set up the mapping. I used to use the old Boggus mapper on V5 and would like to configure V7 to act the same. I've read through the wiki etc. but it goes right over my head. Any chance you could post a copy of your mapping for the DAC3 it may help me to understand it better if I can see how you've set your up. Garycee
