Sujet: hercules rmx and vdj7

how do i press a button n the hercules so it shifts from one deck to the other.......without using the keyboard?

you mean like how would you get it to switch from decks 1&2 to decks 3&4? you would have to map something out, either on the keyboard or on the RMX itself, but I wouldn't have the foggiest idea on what the map code/codes would be honestly. Sorry I wasn't much help, lol.

i have 4- 6 decks......and i am still using 2......how do i get to switch to the others and get ready to mix while the previous ones are running.
 
tab switches from one deck to another deck on vdj 6
 
 
but that switches BOTH decks at same time ??
From being 1 & 2 .. to being 3 & 4 ..

For any controller that have 2 buttons mapped to same function (meaning it doesnt specify in the mapper if the button are left on the controller or right on the controller) like the SOURCE button on Hercules RMX (its just ONE source button in mapper settings, not two.. like Source_left and Source_right).. Having ONE in mapper is made to simplify mapping controllers..

But to have DIFFERENT actions on SAME button on both sides of the controller do this :

device_side left ? deck 1 leftdeck ? deck 3 select & deck 3 leftdeck : deck 1 select & deck 1 leftdeck : device_side right ? deck 2 rightdeck ? deck 4 select & deck 4 rightdeck : deck 2 select & deck 2 rightdeck

(for example at the SOURCE button at Hercules RMX)

This way you can change to deck 3 and deck 4 independently :) on right and left source button on the controller
The scripts "asks" if you press on the left side of the controller or right side :) and act independently

Adding SELECT to the script is useful, as it will also make this the dominant waveform (active), as well as headset prelisten (unless you are using PFL buttons manually in the skin)
 
Now please give me the god code for the scratch button not having to be toggled!

Not sure I understand..
What do you want the scratch button to do?

deck 1 vinyl_mode & deck 2 vinyl_mode & deck 3 vinyl_mode & deck 4 vinyl_mode

This should turn on/off scratch for all 4 decks
 
And how about the script from 4-mx?

action_deck 1 ? down ? deck 3 leftdeck & deck 3 djc_shift : deck 1 leftdeck & deck 1 djc_shift : down ? deck 4 rightdeck & deck 4 djc_shift : deck 2 rightdeck & deck 2 djc_shift

This will be ok on the SOURCE button of the RMX?

One important thing is the led on on switching from 1/3 or 2/4.

Is it possible?

So the led is on when sellect 3 and 4 decks?
 
Ok so I'm ready to buy Hercules RMX; However, I am confused on two things. I bought Newmark CUE... Will the Hercules RMX still work with it? Or do I have to use the version of VirtualDJ that comes with it? And another thing, is Newmark CUE the same as VirtualDJ Pro 7?
 
SHIFT on the 4-Mx is a toggle button that toggles the 6+6 buttons between buttons 1-6 and 7-12.

Assuming that is the same on the RMX, you could try the following:

action_deck 1 ? down ? on & deck 3 leftdeck & deck 3 djc_shift : deck 1 leftdeck & deck 1 djc_shift : down ? on & deck 4 rightdeck & deck 4 djc_shift : deck 2 rightdeck & deck 2 djc_shift

You need Virtual DJ Pro to be able to add custom mapping.

Most of the time when a script question is asked on the forum everyone points to the "script wiki"....A lot of good info there, but it in itself is extremely confusing to ppl. that are not comfortable writing what is essential basic computer code. Most of us realize the wiki is there, but we cannot string commands together and make them work properly many times.......Just food for thought.....
