Sujet: Mapping Problems with Hercules RMX and VDJ7?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

When I downloaded the new version it wiped out all the settings I had mapped for the six buttons. It has done this each time I have upgraded - no big deal. I know how to set it up. However, on the new VDJ 7 when I try to set it back up, the settings don't stick. Anyone else having this problem or know a fix for it?

Thanks in advance

i can only map deck 1 & 2 not 3&4

So....... Is anyone gonna explain this one?

I found this happening to me when I first started remapping controllers. It sounds like the mapping.xml is corrupt or something your putting into it is bad.

If you go into your VirtualDJ folder / Mappers folder, find the Hercules RMX mapper.xml and double click on it, it should open in IE (Internet Explorer). If the mapper is good then the last entry will be "mapper" (without the quotations). If it is bad than IE will tell you where its bad. You will have to review the code at the line IE says need attention.

Hope this helps.

I'm not sure what's going on now. I did what you suggested and the last entry is mapper, with no quotes around it.

I re-installed VDJ 6 and now I am unable to map on there.

I've done this many times, but maybe I am doing something wrong?

Config-->Mappers-->From the key drop down box I choose BUTTON1. Next I click on Action-Learn. The settings box goes away and I click the loop in button on the DJ interface. The settings box re-appears. Next I choose BUTTON4 from the drop down box. I click Action-Learn. The settings box goes away and I choose the loop out button. The settings box re-appears, but it has assigned loop out to both buttons 1 and 4.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance!

instead of clicking on the "action learn" type in "loop_in" and "loop_out" (without the quotations) in the respective buttons. It may be a skin problem. The .xml for the skin my not have been updated for VDJ7 coding.

I have the problem solved now. Thank you for your input. It was weird. I had to click on "BUTTON1" in the left hand column instead of from the drop down box. There were a few "BUTTON1's" in the column so I changed all of them to loop-in and changed all the "BUTTON4's" to loop out and it seems to have stuck. Thanks!

Can someone explain how to map the six buttons? --------@-------.---

Turn your skin to the plain one (silver), next to each button has a little "arrow", if you click on it, it opens and you choose the function you want.

After that you can have any skin you prefer with the functions you like ;)
