I am working with a vestax vai40 and a denon dnhc2500 sound card and midi controller, I am trying to use 4 docks at the some time by assigning each channel to a different output from each sound card and send it into separate inputs into the mixer, for some reason the denon sound card keeps changing from a 2 channel output to a 1 output. Anyone else having issues with trying to get multiple channel to working?? Or what is a good sound card to use??

The combination of Vestax VAI-40 and Denon HD2500 will give you only 2 deck features. In the main audio setup window the software detects the interface as 2in 2out sound card because Virtual DJ 7 is always loaded with 2 decks. Virtual DJ will crash everytime you select output for 3rd and 4th deck using the Vestax VAI-40 audio interface or the Denon HD2500 if you go into advanced configuration. It's a software issue not hardware. Routing the 4 decks to 2 different interfaces is not possible either using the Vestax VAI-40 and Denon HD2500. Virtual DJ detects both hardware as 4in 4out in single sound card option or 2in 2out in 2 sound cards option. Therefore 4 decks features are not possible with this combination of Vestax VAI-40 and Denon HD2500.
Anyway the only way to get full 4 decks capabilities is to use Audio 8 as interface and Denon HD2500 as controller. But you will have to manually select the deck using the computer mouse. Once you click the deck number and make it lit the controller will reflect that specific deck status. Remember that the controllers are automatically assigned to deck 1 and 2. For example if you're playing a song on deck 1 and wish to mix another song on deck 3 just point the mouse to deck 3 and click and you'll instantly notice that the controller stop running waiting for you to hit play to start the song on deck 3. You can switch back and forth between any deck using the same method. Later you can combine Vestax VAI-40 and Denon HD2500 if Virtual DJ team fix the bug so the software can detect both the Vestax VAI-40 and Denon HD2500 as a 4 stereo channel sound card instead of 2 when you select 2 sound cards options.

Just come back with an update regarding my last post. Virtual DJ 7 can be loaded with 4 decks if the sound card is detected as 8in 8out without any problem. My previous comment was based on the combination of Denon X1600 and Denon HS5500 or Numark V7. The problem is Virtual DJ detects the Denon X1600 as 4in 4out audio interface even the computer recognize the Denon X1600 as 8in 8out. It's a software bug preventing the Denon X1600 to be loaded as 4 stereo channel sound card into Virtual DJ 7.Traktor Scratch Pro works fine with Denon X1600 and support full 4 deck outputs. The timecode mode doesn't work with either Traktor Scratch Pro or Virtual DJ when using the Denon X1600 as audio interface. It may be a hardware issue but they advised me to contact Traktor team first since the Denon X1600 processes the timecode input but can't route it to the software through USB.As I'm writing this comment I am trying the setup and notice something new. Virtual DJ finally detects the Denon X1600 as 8in 8out audio interface in Advanced Configuration but the sound is inaudible.
