I have 2 plasmas hooked into my mac with a 3 way switcher box. My problem is when i switch from my Mac to a live video camera then back to the mac I have to reconfigure the settings in VDJ to throw the video on the screen rather then my mac. Is there an easy fix for that?

as soon as you switch to the camera your computer is assuming that the monitor is disconnected by the sounds of it. Not sure if there is a loophole around this. if your camera has USB support you can run it thru VDJ as a video effect.

hmm...that's crazy...i'm assuming guys do this sort of this all the time with seamless channel switching? I'm trying to think and am completely stumped.

Is there someway to force my mac to continue that video signal after I switch off the switcher does anybody know?

The concept is right because you are using an external switch box. In so doing the computer should not know the difference because the change is coming outside. Maybe it's the type of switch box and or the type of connections to and from the switch box. What is the brand and connection type(s)? Are you running the live camera feed directly from the camera to the switch box then to the Plasma or is the computer in this loop as well? What kind of connection from your Mac to the Switch box?
