You cant go wrong with the Shure SM58.

When it comes to wireless mics you truly do get what you pay for. If your not looking for wireless I agree with the SM58. NASA uses them to record the shuttle launches, it is just that durable. I own a PGX Shure (with the sm58 element) that is outstanding!

Normaly I would agree on the you get what you pay for, but I had purchased a audio technica single wireless mic and it sounds great and has lasted through many a drunk Karaoke singer for many years. Also I got a dual Gem sound wireless system for cheap and I was shocked at how well they sound as well as the range on them and how durable the were and at a fraction of the cost of any Shure system.

my personal experience at my church, we use 3 differnt models a/t mics, praise and worship uses the lower end ones and they still sound good the pastors use the highest end and you can really tell the differnce.., my personal would be the a/t mics but the sm58 have a nice long history..
