Sujet: Hook up Question?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hey their guys. I wanted to know if their is a way to hook up an ipod to the Hercules RMX? Well on my first and only gig so far I ran into a lil problem The client had hired some hula dancers and they wanted to hook up to my sound so they didn't need to use a little boom box. and I told the client thats fine but i'm not sure how i would hook up unfortunately I had a little 5 channel mixing board that i was able to use for them but I had to pull out the main 1/4in from the RMX and plugging in to the lil board. So at the end of the night I gave them some business card to pass the word around for me. So the other day the lady email me and wanted to kinda come together and work together as a duel business, So thats a plus for me but I wanted to know if I can hook up for them with out shutting down completely to change over to the mixing board for.

thanks
steve

steve , get some mini plug to rca wires at radio shack and get some 1/4 in adapters for the rca's

now you can plug any device with a mini plug output into any 1/4 in or rca inputs

i take it all the inputs were in use on the mixer , so you had to unplug something ?

Yes. I have the RCA inputs cable now bred to find out if I can plug in to the RMX so I don't have to unplug the main speakers from RMX to the little mixer. Wanted to know if I can do with out the small mixer?

if your using the rmx as the mixer for the client..you should be able to run from 1-2 or 3-4 and use the source button correct? or did i miss thaT all channel options are being used?

steve .....there are 2 kinds of inputs , line level and phono

phono , of course is turntables , line level is cd's , mp3 players , computer , boom box , cellphones ......

all those things that have mini plug outputs

so , if you wanted to , at home you could experiment hooking up a boombox or mp3 player and try that out

your mixing board and RMX , don't know or care , if it's an ipod or a boombox or a phone ......

just set the input channel to LINE and it will work ....

as far as your set up goes .... if you are already maxed out , unfortunately , friend ,

you probably need a bigger mixer ......

please give us more details about how you have this hooked up , don't assume we know things that we

couldn't possibly , and spell it all out

Thanks.... I will try playing with it. All my inputs are free at this time except the 1/4in inputs for the speakers. I'm not using any other devices at this time on the RMX..

i hope that was some help ...

what is at least a little confusing for me , is i only use the RMX as a controller.....

so i don't use it as a mixer .....

look , you like the RMX , i like the RMX , lotsa DJ's like it .....

but, it's a soundcard , plus a controller (MIDI) plus a mixer .......

so ..... if it were state of the art , in all 3 areas , then WHY doesn't it cost say, $3000 ???? or more ??

the point is , don't get rid of your mixer .....

if you can concentrate a few different things onto the RMX , that's good , they aren't using up

inputs on your mixer , and your mixer is a much better mixer than the RMX .....

you must have done a very good job for those hula babes , under trying circumstances for you ....

proud to know ya .....

if you are friendly , accommodating , and don't speak technological gobbledy gook , your customers

will like you a lot ......

my attorney ( Smedley Screwyoualot) said i should charge for that advice .....

so that'll be 59 cents .......
