I have a simple Numark M2 mixer and a macbook pro that I will be running VirtualDJ on. The mixer is two-channel. I can't get the two channels to separate when plugging the mixer into the headhpone jack on the mac. After some research, I realized I will need a simple external sound card in order to get these channels separated. My question is this... Say I get this external sound card and plug both L/R channel inputs into the mixer and the external sound card. Will I need a 3rd RCA cable to ouput from the master outputs to plug into the soundcard as well, or can I just exclue that RCA cable completely by just plugging my headphones into the mixer? I found this external soundcard, but i'm not sure if it's going to serve the purpose I want it to. (IKEY ICONNEX PORTABLE USB SOUND CARD ). So basically, i'm just trying to find the simplest way to get my channels to work individually with headphones.
