What solution are people using to get around the fact that VDJ will not recognize an IPOD? I keep having people bring their iPods to me during a gig, but I am not able to access their music.

why would you even want to hook up an ipod to your computer that is your paycheck? wow, you are so asking for trouble.
i can think of so many ways of things going wrong that it's not even funny.
1 - you dont know what virus infected computer they downloaded the file from originally.
2 - you dont know that they downloaded and/or paid for a file from a legitimate source.
3 - you dont know what the file actually is! just cause they downloaded a file named "boom boom pow.mp3' doesnt mean someone hasnt renamed it.
but if you feel comfortable playing and mixing a file from an unknown source, by all means do so. i'm sure some other dj will love to get called in to finish the gig.
might not happen right away.. but i'tll happen.

The iPod section of VDJ is reserved for the VDJ app that is still in the approval stage from apple. It's not intended for the use you are trying to use it for.

Further more, I would never use anybody else's "untrusted" music. We're DJ's not iPods!

If you want to mix with ipods get an idj2.
You can use an Ipod but theres a hack you have to do, cant remember it off hand but it can be done.

In virtual dj there are settings for line ins. Use a jack to phono if u can. If not get netsearch. Save you the hassle.
