mum's old laptop ??

how much ram ??

i'd worry about the laptop first .....

good point....

1018mb.

might have to get some more, and its vista ...... double wammy

hercules MP3 E2 is priced right at $100 and works great with VDJ plug and play however it does not have a sound card

there ya go !

now ya might not even have to upgrade the hideous Vista

i say do without the soundcard in this instance .....

soundcards , timecodes , controllers , usually that's for good units ,

well maintained and dedicated to the purpose .......

Where in the UK are you?

im in notts

anyone use a bcd3000?

numark total control with usb headphones= dual soundcard use your computer's min jack for master out and the usb headset as your headphone out...worked for me for a while!

Numark MixTrack Pro, ftw! soundcard, plug n play with VDJ7, touch sensitive jogs/platters.
You can't get more controller for less money.

the numark mixtrack is a great choice. this is a steal at $149
