This past weekend, I had the opportunity to use the the pioneer CDJ 2000 and Virtual Dj Pro 7. I wanted to do my set via my flash drive, and link both cdj's but a faulty cable prevented me from doing so.
Hours in advanced, I downloaded the pioneer audio drivers for the cdj's, so by the time I got the club and after sound testing, and realizing that the flash drive was out of the question, I proceeded with my laptop. I plugged in the cdj's to my laptop and they both went on MIDI mode on their own, which I thought it was really cool.
As I started my set, I noticed how the beat per minute will go completely off from virtual Dj, and or the cdj's. Even when I had them both on beat by ear, the bpm will drop on either side and it will throw of my tracks. However, this was solved once I hit the tempo lock....lol.
My first set was not all that great, and I kind of screwed up a few times, but no one noticed, or at least I closed my eyes, and I didn't see anyone that had noticed my blooper. My second set, at one am! was completely flawless. both virtual Dj and the cdj's behaved amazingly stable with no glitches at all.
In a few words, if anyone has the chance to use this set up, or if anyone is thinking about buying the CDj's 2000 and mate them with VDJ, I would strongly recommend you to do so. This does not mean that I swear by this set up, but it is just another option which is a really great option to consider, or in the case that you already have this set up, I'm sure you will agree with me.
Thank you Virtual Dj for the support.
