ok...thanks for reading...is there a way, using 'skype' mic/phones to record vocals with the RMX on VDJ...I think my first wrong move is having the mic hooked into the lappy--the mic needs to be plugged into the RMX...? I am using the standard headphone adapter to plug the headphones into the RMX---can I use this same adapter to plug the mic into the RMX or are they two different inputs and I am being ridiculous and cannot use the 'skype' mic with the RMX...?

either connect the mic to the RMX (usb mics cannot connect to the RMX so use a mic with a
1/4 " connector)
or
use the usb mic and the default soundcard as it's sound source (primary sound driver)
the music will use the RMX 'S soundcard
in advanced config click the plus and under inputs select microphone , then use primary sound driver
or line Hercules driver , whichever works that should do it , feel free to PM me if you need more help
