hi, I recently got a hercules dj console mk4 and virtual DJ and everything works fine except for the crackling and skipping. It doesn't usually happen right away, but if I have 2 tracks running and I try to do my thing with the mk4, the audio crackles and skips and generally just doesn't sound good.
I tried setting latency to auto, and to the highest setting, tried using safe mode and not using it, etc.
Is it possible my computer isn't good enough for it?
Windows 7
Intel 1.66ghz, 512kb cache
2 GB ram
Would buying a powered USB hub work? the computer is a netbook so maybe it's not getting enough power to the mk4. That being said all the lights work and the actual unit works fine.
help!

Your issue sounds identical to mine and my rig (set up) is alot faster than yours.

1) Apply the changes explained in this guide:
http://ts.hercules.com/faqs/eng/her_eng_00364.pdf
2) In the DJ Control Panel, switch to ASIO audio mode, and in the ASIO tab, you willnotice that the ASIO buffer size is set to 480 (10 ms)
Raise or lower the ASIO Buffer Size (One step at a time). Use VDJ for a while and see if you notice any improvement. Repeat the process until you find the correct setting for your computer.
You may also want to register your VDJ serial number into your profile which will allow you to download the latest updates, and give you access to all other goodies like FX and skins.
