Hi Folks,
I tweaked my laptop in order to use VDJ with the minimum number of processes running in the background. Currently it hovers around 14 or so. I have disabled everything that would allow me WiFi or internet access. The system is stable and works great. I would very much like to run the iPhone VDJ app but I have not a clue what to re-enable to get WiFi access back up and running.
Would anyone know what processes to have active so WiFi could work and the VDJ iPhone app able to run? Or, has anyone ever un-tweaked their laptop?
Thanks,
-DGee

Does your lappy have a wifi switch? What is the make and model?
You may have to install wifi drivers from disk if you wiped her clean.

Hey Superaceman,
You know, you made me think. It is not just a matter of turning on processes, I would have to re-install drivers as well. I think it would be simpler to just create another boot partition with a basic windows install that has the WiFi enabled and start from there. It is a Toshiba A200 series laptop. I spent a lot of time doing the tweaks and it has just the stuff needed to do audio well. It would be difficult to get it back to normal again, I'm sure.
Thanks for your time.

wyh would you do a fresh install just to get your wiffi back on? disabeling a process doesnt uninstall the drivers. even if it did when you turn the wifi back on it would search windows driver packeges and reinstall the drivers automatically.

If you turn your wifi switch to the on position, the system should recognize it and reconfig your wifi.

And there lies the problem. I just don't know what processes and services to turn back on to get WiFi back. Turning on the switch does nothing as there is no DHCP, internet, ethernet or network processes active.
I am running about 14 processes. A normal internet connected laptop has upwards of 49. I thought there might be a recognized list of what processes and services need to be active for wifi to work.
Thanks for the suggestions so far.
