Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

so ok, ive updated my graphics card to an ATI Radeo HD5570, and now i get the memory leak issue and some crashguard hits..

Crash ID=772114f4 (date=1012220252, version=7.0.2 Pro, build=347, thread=Main, dump=891883c0, excode=c0000005 (1,6ba85fe0))
Crash ID=005279e7 (date=1101160038, version=7.0.2 Pro, build=347, thread=Scan, dump=89018d49, excode=c0000005 (1,187b5c))
Crash ID=0052795b (date=1101170002, version=7.0.2 Pro, build=347, thread=Main, dump=660f7f01, excode=c0000005 (1,0))

the story goes like this...

1. start vdj
2. load 1st track.. all good..
3. load 2nd track... ok so far..
4. load 3rd track.. Then error, there isnt enough continuous memory, so the track sill load on the fly.. (not good)

after some time putting up with on the fly loading, the crashguard rears its ugly head.

and as multiple instances are not possibe anymore, i have to use the old cd player while vdj restarts..

(and clicking crashguard > recover dosent reload virtualdj for me as it should)

I had the same problem with my HD 3850. Turns out it was the Catalyst software doing it. I actually had to go back a few levels to get a stable one. This also affected other things like web browsing and such. I am betting you see a lot of errors in the event viewer also.
Try 10.8 version of the catalyst software and drivers.

Im jumping on this post just because -

crashguard has never worked - so to techstaff-- hey guys, whats up with that? figured by now you'd of got that one cured.

back in the late xp / early vista days, i saw that more than the video screen in 1.1

@ originalmadmanjohn

Crashguard correctly works.

@ blckjck
Thanks for your imput, i'll search around for the older ati drivers.

@ djcel
on crashguard, if i click on rcover.. how long does it take for vdj to auto relaunch??
i clicked recover and vdj closed.. i waited about a minute and nothing.. so i manually clicked vdj pro icon..

also @ djcel...
any ideas on what part of vdj crashed?? )so i can continue investigating..

Crashguard can't recover from an external crash (ie a crash outside the VirtualDJ code).

so the crash was caused by using the latest catalyst drivers..

last weekend, i rolled back to v10.2 and everything works great.
Thanks guys for all your help. (",)

That is of interest to me. I had a Radeon HD2500 card and it does NOT like 10.12 drivers under XP, but only the 10.8 driver set. Windows 7 does not seem impacted (32bit on both).

For my personal PC, I got an 5570 (like you) and so far, it is playing nice w/ XP and Windows 7 using the 10.12 drivers. But have not used VDJ as this is my non DJ system.

Not to derail the topic/thread, but ATI/AMD 10.12 drivers (well, any drivers after 10.8) have caused me nothing but grief in some cases.

Now what IS relevant to this topic is informing me that a 5570 Radeon might not be a viable choice for a VDJ system.

Looks like another purchase of a GT220 EVGA card for 2nd rig.

Interesting... I let Microsoft install their "upgrade" drivers... had a bunch of freezes, etc. Then I went and got the newest "driver only" package from ATI, it wound up installing Catalyst 10.10 also. I have not had any issues since, ran 50 videos back to back with no issues... it used to take 1 ~ 3 before.

FYI
Driver Packaging Version 8.801-101125a109805C-ATI

Control Center Version 2010.0803.2125.36577

I am running my main display at 1280x1024 and the video/karaoke display at 1024x768, with full hardware acceleration and the rest of the settings default.

its working on the HD5570, using the 10.2 drivers dated 17th Feb 2010.

the very latest driver, catalyst 10.12 dated 13th Dec 2010 didnt work for me.

Where do you find the old Catalyst Drivers?
