I haven't found this answer elsewhere, so hopefully someone can answer it.
I don't have any karaoke or videos yet, however, I may add that at some future time.
If I buy the $99 version of VDJ, can I upgrade to Pro later, and just pay the $200 difference, or will I have to pay the full $299 price? If so, it would be cheaper to just pay the $299 for Pro at the outset.
Also, I noticed that all versions (except LE) have up to 99 decks. Where can I find info about using more than two? I guess I don't understand the reason why you would need that many, or how to use them.
Thank you.

I can't answer the first part of your question in all certainty... I think you can upgrade (I'm going based on the fact you can put in a current serial number to do so)... But if I am right, I'm not sure how much it will cost.
The reason to have up to 99 decks isn't just so you can have 99 tracks making peoples ears bleed! For example; with version 7, Atomix have implemented ReWire, which means you can have other ReWire enabled production tools/ applications running through a deck (as an input through advanced config) on VDJ and apply effects to those tracks while mixing them into your set. In addition you can route musicians and instruments through VDJ (with additional hardware), which means you have a huge range of products and services you can supply to any prospective client.
That's just a quick thing about the 99 decks but the possibilities really go much further than that.
I would recommend buying pro, other options may be to buy the basic and upgrade (but as I said, I'm not certain)... Or if you want to look down the controller route, you can get an LE version of VDJ bundled with it and upgrade from that.
Hope this helps a bit and that someone else can elaborate on where I'm lacking.
All the best!

You can upgrade from Basic to the full Pro with the $99 taken off as a discount (So you do not end up paying any more than if you had have purchased Pro in the first place.)
However, Basic does not support MIDI controllers or timecode (It supports mouse and keyboard use only), so if you are intending to use a controller, you will need the full VirtualDJ Pro.
