Hi Everyone.
Not really sure where to post this so I put it in here!!
I have been using Virtual DJ home for a while but want to connect it out my laptop..... into a mixer..... and then on to the speakers etc. Basically so i can have a headphone mix aswell as the original playing.
All I have for output on my laptop is a 3.5mm headphone port.
On the mixer there are red & white phono connections ( CH1 and CH2).
I'm really wondering how i can connect it all together and what cables I will need. I'm guessing im going to need a soundcard to get left and right outputs.
But any info would be helpful.
Cheers Crave

Yes, you will need an external soundcard, but you will also need the Full Pro version, since Home Free version doesnt give you such an option in the Sound Config.

made this vid three years ago, so obviously it's well out of date, but it will give you the general idea of what to do, quality is abysmal but watchable.
basically if you cant follow the clip
go to config
soundsetup
outputs > external mixer
soundcards > mono seperated
output channels give you white lead/left channel red lead/right channel to your mixer
you will have to use a y splitter for each channel to get dual inputs into mixing desk
which will only give you mono sound output
This will help until you get a four channel out sound card, but if you only go for a two channel out you can still use the card as your main output and your lappy output as your headphones.
Hope that helps.
