hey guys. i've been frustrated for the past few weeks about this. I've been using virtualDJ for the past year and a half and I'm finally going to get cd players and a mixer. I'm getting the American Audio cdi 500's with the qd-5. here are my questions. they might seem dumb but oh well lol
1. do i really need a soundcard?
2. if a soundcard is needed, what kind should i get for a cheap price?
3. what's the purpose for the timecode?
4.is this setup even compatible with virtualdj?
I have more questions but i can't think of them at the moment haha i really appreciate your guys' input. thanx.

Follow these steps:
Purchase a Virtual DJ Pro license.
Then, if you want to be taken seriously as a professional, then make the investment in professional equipment. We all began at the bottom in this business, and with advances in technology, it is now even easier and less expensive to get started. However, just because it is easier, doesn't mean just anyone can make it.
So if you are asking the cheapest way to get into this profession, the cheapest way is not to.
If you are asking because you have a passion for this business and you plan to treat it as such; a professional business, then do your research and make an educated, wise investment in proper, professional equipment.

The subject is. .. it's hard to hand out advice to some one that has questions about a product they obviously don't support because you don't have a registered copy of VDJ.
Thus, buy a copy. .. register it on the boards and come back with questions we will be happy to answer.
