Sujet: Using Midi Controller with Vinyl Timecode possible?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi All! I'm currently using a Behringer BCD 3000 controller which works very well with VDJ.

Can I use a Timecode Vinyl in conjunction with the controller, so that I can mix with the controller and scratch with the vinyl?
If so, can I still control the pitch on the controller? (My turntable does not have a picth control).

Also, can I use any timecode Vinyl, or does it have to be something specific?

Thanks!

Hi Trip,

I am using a BCD3000 with timecoded vinyls without any issues... and you can use any of the supported timecoded vinyls to do this... and it doesn't matter what controller you are using as far as which TCV you use...I've swapped out to a serato box from the BCD3000 without changing anything at all in the TCV setup.

And to answer your other question, you can still use the pitch control on the BCD3000 even while the TCV is keeping the time for the track playing...

I got to mention this though, you said your turntable doesn't even have a pitch control, so I've got to wonder if is it even up to the task of scratching... Hopefully at the very least it has direct drive...

Thanks for your detailed and prompt response!

It's a Technics 2000 - An older model with Direct Drive without a pictch control. I just found out it will not be good for scratching as the platter is spring loaded and not ideal for scratching. The BCD is a great controller, but the scratch is essentially useless.

Is there any decent turntable out there without the price of a 1200 ?
