Hello!
Well I am about to make the transition from desktop top DJ to online radio. I will be accessing a host server.
So what I'd like to know is what a reasonable set up is required for me to be able to broadcast and use a mic.
The info I need is SC suggestions that allow a mic and anything else I might need?

Hi babe. i\'m not exactly sure but as noone else answered your question...
i should think you need a pretty fast processor i3 at least... and quite a bit ov RAM probably wouldn\'t go amis either... a good mic would help with the shout-outs etc and a nice clear voice will help too... you can buy the first three but you\'ll have to work on the last one...

"Back in the day" my DJ buddy and I would do an online broadcast, usually when the weather was so bad the clubs wouldn't open. Fueled by booze and lunacy, we'd play tracks and babble about nonsense...but it actually got me a job working for a radio station! Go figure...
Anyway I agree a fast computer with plenty of RAM is a great start. A FAAAST internet connection, not just fast but SOLID - even streaming to an already existing server you want to have a rocksolid connection. All the bells and whistles in the world won't matter if you're audio is dropping out.
The way my friend and I did it, we actually set up a "studio" to broadcast from. I think we overthought the setup but it was similar in ways the studio at the radio station. We used a computer to play the music which we ran into a mixer. Both mics also went in the mixer, then the mixer "out" went in the "mic input" of the "broadcast computer" (the one that was the fastest and had the internet connection and ----cast). Once we tested the levels (making sure we weren't clipping) we sent out the link and voilla...internet radio station!

I see your a pro user which means you could actually play on VDJ's Radio channels! Look in the radio forum for more info.

I guess I needed to say, I want to broadcast from VDJ on my PC using my mp3's etc. And be able to use a mic. I have a headset atm?
So I need a sc that has an out to a mixer, mics to the mixer then back again to the PC?
