hey....

ive set up my equiptment and im running it all through a focusrite saffire 6 usb interface.... it sounds wicked BUT i cant seem to listen to the track in my headphones when i want to cue it up, all i can hear is whats coming out of the master.... Ive tried the headphone socket on my macbook and still nothing, am i doing something wrong (which is very likely) or do i need some device for the headphones???

ALSO

i have a midi controller..... how can i assign the faders and knobs etc to use whilst mixing....

What type of MIDI controller is it?

It may already be supported.

Please ensure that you are using the latest VirtualDJ v7.0.2: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/free.html

NOTE: MIDI controllers can only be used in Home FREE for the first 10 minutes as a trial of Pro features. To be able to use MIDI controllers and much, much more, you will need to purchase the full VirtualDJ Professional: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

Home FREE is for non-commercial use only - It cannot be used at DJ gigs where you are being paid.

thanks for your reply......

its doesnt give me an option to select my midi controller, when i refresh the search all it come with is the "keyboard" option, im guessing its because i have the free version of virtual dj...... i didnt check this after 10mins of onstalling to see if it worked......

Thanks

andy

Which MIDI controller do you actually have - What make/model is it?

Home FREE will allow natively supported MIDI controllers to be used for the first 10 minutes. It should also be possible to access SImple MIDI Wrapper during this time to manually map unsupported devices - Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/homepage/jpboggis/blogs/4149/VDJscript_Mapping.html for basic mapping instructions.

NOTE: After 10 minutes, Home FREE will revert back to limited mouse and keyboard use only.

thanks for your reply, the controller is and Evolution MK-425C, its a keyboard BUT it has some knobs, buttons and faders i thought would come in handy whilst mixing..... I litteratly get no midi options during the 1st 10 mins....

Thanks

andy

If you have a MIDI controller connected then it should automatically start the 10 minute Pro trial and Simple MIDI Wrapper will show up in the list in CONFIG -> Mappers.

Check that you have not disabled MIDI - Go to CONFIG -> Mappers, click on the button to the right of the drop-down list and make sure that the option to use MIDI is enabled.

Another possibility is something on your computer is conflicting and preventing the MIDI driver for the device working. Logitech Webcam drivers are a common cause, but this tends to be on a PC.

hey....

tried all of that thanks.... still no joy, i even disabled all other device (keyboard, hid, firewire and serial) then rescanned but nothing is coming up with anything.....

mmmmmmmm, very confused beacuse i can use the midi controller when im making tunes with logic 8, its basically plug and play..... i dont think its conflicting with anything.....

any other ideas??????

sorry for being a pain.
