Hi there. I think I'm posting in the right spot here. I wanted to know about the Radius 3000s in MIDI mode. The unit is basically pitch black unless you press the wheel down. Is there a fix for this or is it coming down the pipe from AA to have this done? I'm super impressed with the units so far and I was just wondering about that.
As well. are there any other configuration changes that are coming for it to use it even more with VDJ. I love the fact that every buttom on it is mappable and I'm going to start playing with it. Has anyone done any of that with one of these.

a bit off the topic bro, but how do you like your radius 3000? I had them for about six month and I love them, and I also wish we had more when in MIDI mode, but hey, they work flawlessly as MIDI with virtual Dj.
What sound card do you use with your set up? I use the American Audio Versaport.

Hey DJ Ho
I've had them for just a couple of weeks and I have to admit that I'm totally blown away. I have the budget to purchase either the Denon or Pioneers and tried the Pioneer 350, 400 and 2000. I loved them but not any more than I love the Radius decks. It was a friend of mine that told me I would be blown away and I am so far.
As for the sound card I'm using the MIXVIBES card... ESI makes it and it works just fine. How is the Versaport. I've been wondering about it. I have to admit that I never really liked American Audio but I'm starting to change my mind about the higher end stuff so far. I think we have China to thank for that. :-)
As for MIDI mode... they work flawlessly and I;ve realized that all the buttons work and I don't have to change much with them. I'm super happy about that. I just wish they could get the lights working as well as the track information on the screen as well like the Pioneer deck when in MIDI MODE. It would be a nicety and it would help to be able to look at the deck for the information. That's honestly my only complaint about them.
Otherwise.... I would seriously recommend these decks to everyone. So far for me.... it's not worth the extra money for the Pioneers.

Unfortunately the display screens are not MIDI capable and cannot be mapped. This is a hardware limitation.
The same applies to the platter LED's (They light up to indicate touch only.)

Got it. I was suspicious of that and wanted to confirm it. I appreciate the information. It still works flawlessly and I can deal with looking at the computer monitor basedon the price of the unit fo what it can do. I know the pioneers can display the information but again..... the pricing for them is ridiculous in comparison.
In my opinion at least.
