Sujet: VMS4, VDJ will not recognize the hardware

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hello,

I've always used my VMS4 fine with Virtual DJ PC Version, and in the past I have used the hardware on mac also.

I just purchased one of the new macbook pro's, and installed the VDJ software, whenever I start the software it states that the controller is not plugged in, plug it in and restart the virtual dj software. I've double check the system profiler and it shows the VMS4 attached to USB, I also tried on a PC again, so its not the hardware.

Please Help! I use this for regular gigs.

Thanks!

Anthony

Just as an FYI to everyone, Anthony, asked this question on our (ADJ's) forums, and since I have limited experience with VDJ on Mac, and we have no Mac/VDJ experts on our boards. I advised him to ask over here.

PS. I already asked, and he confirmed that he installed the LE version that came with the VMS4, and it didn't help.

I'm getting my vsm4 tomorrow so I will see what needs to be don't to connect it to mac. so look for an answer tomorrow if no one beats me to it

Thanks StevieRay!

Hopefully I'm able to get this resolved as I wanted to start using the mac version instead. I'm also looking to order the Pro Version, but I'm afraid of ordering and not being able to get it to work.

I'm sorry to say that I can't help you much ..... just got my vms4 unboxed and plugged it in and everything works right away after selecting it in advanced config.

No problem,

Thanks for the try. I think I maybe reinstalling my OS. I tried the vms4 on my fiances mac and it worked perfect. But it will not work on my brand new Macbook Pro I5. I really dont get it , hopefully a reinstall of the OS fixes it. I've already tried uninstalling the software, that didnt work...

I'm Lost! haha

Alright here is the update on my issue, and help for anyone else that stumbles on the same issue.

So the issue was that the VMS4 would not work with the new series of macbooks pros the I5/I7, Vdj would not recognize that the hardware was plugged in.

I called vdj support and after talking to a few different people they came to the conclusion that it must be that I need to download the VDJ 7 LE update and that the new mac should recognize my vms4.

So I downloaded the new version of vdj and installed it. Same issue happened. This did NOT fix my issue.

I was looking at very old postings and I found the issue from a few months ago where the vms was having distortion issues on macs, and to fix this they made a mac firmware 3.12, I downloaded 3.12 and installed it.

After the 3.12 firmware VDJ would finally recognize my vms4. Now the only problem is that only one channel will work. This is where I'm at now. I'll post if I'm able to get the rest working. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Anthony

Thanks to Auralcandy.net I was able to mimic his test on my vms4 issue. Same problem! So if anyone runs into this issue with a vms4 and a new macbook, use a usb powered hub for now, and hope a firmware fix comes around soon!

I tried to update to 3.12 and I also got the problem with only 1 output. maybe try to downgrate to 3.11 again and see if that helps. or if you figure out how to get 3.12 to work I would be glad if you could share with me what you did.
