Sujet: hercules rmx and microphone

Why is the volume on my microphone so low? I have it full volume, downloaded the latest driver but it just seems that i have to speak loud into for it to be heard. Sometime i hear glitches if I go speak/sing too loud. It's becoming a problem when I do karaoke sessions.
The mics sound great when I feed them through my other mixer but sometimes I just want to carry my laptop and the RMX
