I finally purchased the firetext plugin and I am really impressed with the features of the software and the customer service. The text to screen is just amazing and it will get even more popular with Djs. Even if you don't do text to screen, you can use the plugin to overlay a video logo onto your screen while mixing videos. You can also overlay a PNG DJ logo on your video. It also has picture slideshow, Picture in Picture feature and much more. The customer service is also really good; quick responses and knowledgeable support reps. When I use it for my shows, guys always ask me what software that I am using and I tell them VDJ. They have never seen a Dj that can spin videos with logo overlays, scrolling text and text to screen. I also use it as a selling point to my customers by telling them that most DJs can't do half the stuff that I can do.

Like any product, there are pros and cons. In your review I noticed that there are no cons so I feel obliged to reply with one of the problems I had found with the system in trial mode.

FireText is a nice addition to any mobile show, but with the plug-in for VDJ it did rob alot of resources and therefore used up my CPU which I found unacceptable (audio is priority). [Before the FireText fanboys jump all over my system, I'm using a Sony Vaio, 4g RAM and duo-core processor.] At one point my CPU meter was pinned in the red while using the program. The meter usually runs between 5 - 10%.

Please be advised that I am not knocking this program in any way, just stating the issues that I had with it. It is advisable to use the trial version of any program in order to make an informed decision to purchase.

Just my 2 cents.

I never experienced any of those issues. I have a quad core laptop 4gigs ram and I mix Music Videos while using many other effects. As you said; it is good to test out the trial first before purchasing.

Unfortunately anybody with less than a quad core processor will likely experience similar issues.

Dual core 3,2 GHz 4 gig ram no issues at all. CPU runs on about 25%

be cautious making statements about how the software and plugins run , it probably only applies

some of the time

your system seems ok but the rest of us don't know how well you have tweaked it for video

with only 4 gig of ram it's not real powerful for video

i can run video with FireText on only 4 gigs of ram, but that system is rarely used

i gig with 2 systems one with 8 gigs and the other w/ 6 gig

4 gigs of ram to me would be kinda a minimum to do pro audio 'n video ...

i use and love FireText and haven't noticed it being any problem ....

it is a well written plug in that isn't glitchy

Tayla , and Raoul and Alex have always been very nice and helpful

It is only fair to the potential customer to give them both the pros and cons of the product. I've had issues and I know there have been other users with similar problems.

There is no doubt in my mind that they have top rate service, as it has always been a pleasure to deal with Tayla in the forums.
