Sujet: Missed functions from VDJ 3.x

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi!

I started my career to be a "bedroom DJ" a couple of years ago, when the version 3.x of VDJ was hot. But soon, I didn't have time for my bedroom sessions and I lost my barely basic skills.

Today, I downloaded the VDJ version 7 and tried to remember the "kindergarden basics" of both the software an basic DJ-ing.

I "miss" a couple of functions and wonder if they are available in some skin, scripting command or possible to build a own plugin of some sort to handle.

The functions are:
* Skip. You could skip one beat or one bar just at the touch of a button. It was in the Loop tab in the middle.
* Cue timing. In the cue tab in the middle, one could see the time remaining to/elapsed since cue points #1-#5 on each deck.
* EQ-crossfader. It was possible to crossfade the Hi, Mid and Low separately.

Any help on these functions would be helpful. (Or is it time to forget the past, and try to learn the "right way"?)

A lot of these are still available and incorporated into different skins (especially the EQ crossfader). Surf through the skins page and download the one that suits you best!

Best of luck.

Thanks for the tip!

Found immediately two interesting skins.

* Mix Lab v3 Has graphics for the three wanted function, but the beat skip function isn't implemented. Maybe it will be in v4. However, the v4 is in beta and only PC at the moment. (I'm hoping for Mac version in the future.)

* Multi Functions v6. Has all three functions on my wish list.

You can spend a lot of time in the skins section of the site. I've literally lost days downloading and playing with different skins. There are a lot of features that are not incorporated into each skin (depending on the creator) which differ from skin to skin. For example: one skin has a "beat lock" function, but the next one doesn't. Same with the EQ crossfader and the other features you mentioned. It all depends on the creator and their preferences. There are a pile of excellent skins on this site.

Enjoy.
